Manitoba - CANADA | Yesterday morning, one of my first calf heifers gave birth under very cold temps ( -27 degree Celsius = -16.6 degree Fahrenheit ) No wind and outside.
She had no problems, I gave a tug or three and out he popped.
As soon as that Bull calf was on the ground she turned and begin licking the by jesus out of him :)
Well the calf was up and sucking within an hour or so, which was great :)
But he was weak all day today, he would just get up and suck and then just drop down afterwards.
Talked to the Angus Breeder that I had purchased her from and he told me to give the new born calf an injection of Resflor.
Did a little research after admin. the Resflor and it stated not to be used on breeding animals.
By me giving the new born Resflor, have I ruined him as a Breeding Bull ?
Also , what side effects should I watch for ?
Weather has improved greatly as I post this ( -5 degree Celsius = 23 degree Fahrenheit )
