Subject: Radiant floor heat

I plan on using radiant floor heat in my new shop. I just got done talking to my heat guy. I asked him to compare LP gas to Geothermal. His estimates for the LP unit was approximately $12000. The Geo unit using electricity was $24000. He would sell either one but his program showed it would cost about $1300 a year for the LP unit. The Geo would cost $300 a year. A difference of $1000 in operating cost.
Now with the Geo unit you get a 30% tax credit from IRS and a $1500 rebate from the electric supplier. A total of about $8700. You are now down to a difference of $3300 between the systems. Does this really seem possible? It looks like a payback in less than 4 years. What are you guy's seeing out there. I have always heard Geo was so expensive. It doesn't look like it if this any where near correct. I would sure like to hear of your thoughts.
