Subject: western USA route for kids

NC ND
Going on a family trip from ND to Denver and after that will be heading to Phoenix. Depending on the weather after Denver was thinking of going through Monte Vista, Durango, Tuba City into Flagstaff. Or west and see Arches national park then south to Flagstaff.

Leaving Phoenix is pretty wide open, going to end up in Walla Walla, Wa. Catch is I'll have a 6 year old riding shotgun and mom is flying home from Phoenix. What is the most interesting route to take with things a six yr old might enjoy? Vegas strip I could see be interesting then head north. Maybe hit some of the Grand Canyon or a helicopter ride.

Have relatives in Santa Maria, CA, could see Disneyland that direction along with the ocean. Not sure what else.

Leaving Walla Walla I was thinking of hwy 12 over Lolo Pass, or maybe going south and make a stop in Burley, ID. Seen northern ID and MT too many times to be interesting.

If you got anything to add, warn against or recommend I would love to hear ideas.
