SE PA | I've been to IN and IL many times in the winter but this past week i spent 3 days and 700 miles from Indy to Macomb, IL and back to Indy. I think i only saw 4 fields other then corn and beans! From my perspective things looked pretty good except for a few dry areas but that didn't amount to many miles. However I know there are potential pollination issues lurking in those good looking feilds. One of the highlights was meeting Don Birkey and seeing his cover crop seeder first hand at Joel Gruver's field day. Joel did a great job of coordinating the meeting in the morning and led a tour of his research fields in the afternoon. Also met and chatted with tntfarm for an hour along the interstate! I knew i probably went by a a few of your farms as well-wish i would have had the time to do a bit more but it was good for me to see the heartland in summer.
