Subject: The worst prices in grain we will see in the next 20 years.... (Purchasing Ground)

Frytown, Iowa

When looking to purchase ground you dont need to figure for when things go right or when prices are high so i will save the day dreaming......

After grains and commodities go parabolic downwards (probably within a month of the highs) they will hit a low and stay low for a good number-a-years. even after those 5 or so years of terrible prices there will be some tough times yet ahead.

Its safe to say if you buy ground now you are going to see those years. So Im trying to get a ball park on how bad those few years could get and how much money you would have to subsidize with to keep from loosing a farm.... what is your W.A.G. (wild graylixie guess) on what corn and soybeans will be during the hard times?

for the older farmers who seen first hand the 80's hard times what was the swing back then? did you go from making a $100/ac. to loosing $100/ac?

thanks....
