A lady in our little town had her two pets go MIA last nite.  Apparently their cage in the garage was accidentally left unlocked and they went out for a little recon mission.  Only problem is, her pets were two 6'+ long pythons.  News reports on the Des Moines TV station this evening said that one has been found, the other is still on the lam.   Several of our friends who live in town are severly ophidiophobic and one sent his wife home from work to turn their house thermostat down to 60* cause snakes don't like cold.....he thought that'd keep it out of their house.  Another said his wife, who has lots of outside chickens, goats, cats, etc, took the day off work and has been patroling their property with his .45s.  He said that was fine, but if she fired, he'd have to go pick her up outta the grass somewhere.   With heat indices in the 105-110 range, I'm sure the other snake is hiding out in some cool shady spot for the time being.  Makes me glad we're out in the country!!  ;~)
