Subject: Guard rail and I beam post question

Western Iowa
I have decided to replace some yard fence here soon and decided on 3 guard rails with I beam post 8-10 feet apart. Total fence hieght about 6ft. Post length 10ft.

Will just be a yard fence, not a corral or loading fence, what should I settle on for fence post spacing?

And my biggest question is what is the best way or material to use to tamp the posts in? Thinking of filling the hole with concrete or possibly some type of rock to keep the post from rotting off down the road. I don't really want to do this fence again, ever, and thats a long time!

Finally anyone have a good source for the materials somewhat close to western iowa??
