Subject: Potential pre-plant soybean herbicides for 2012?

Chebanse, IL.....

Seems the list is growing for glyphosate resistance or control difficulties. Marestail & Tall waterhemp are major problems now. U of IL guys say if you have TWH resistant to glyphosate & PPO (like Blazer), then there are NO (0!!) chemical alternatives. But, what labelled preplant and/or incorporated herbicide options are there that will help control these weeds? Anything that would work good on the weeds & not kill the beans too? One observation I have on TWH is their population. I remember seeing my first TWH at a chem field day maybe 10-15 yrs ago. Now, I see them in fields here that are so thick you could walk across them & not touch dirt.

It's been quite a few yrs since we've used any preplant products for beans, but maybe it's time again.

Link takes you to one recent from U of IL re. waterhemp.
