NE Kansas | For my corn burn-down, I have been spraying 20 oz of 4# 2,4-D and 1.5# of atrazine in the fall after the dual placement of ferilizer is done. I have been thinking about adding some 28% to the mix for a variety of reasons.
Generally spray 10 gal/acre of water as the carrier. Can 28% be exchanged for the water with no ill effect to how the chemicals will work. I might also add some brash or sterling to the mix. I'm assuming glyphosate would be a definite no.
Is there any concern as to the mechanics of sprayng 28% vs. water regarding the pump and flowmeter since the specific gravity will be different. What type of spray tip is needed to apply liquid fertilizer?
