Southeast Florida | One of the mega diaries west of me is chopping silage corn. They have 3) 7950 John Deere choppers running out there and a line of trucks. I couldn’t count all of the trucks; I’d guess 50 with a mixture of 18 wheelers and twin screw bob trucks. I had no idea that silage choppers now have 800 HP engines. I’ll try to get so pics tomorrow when they move to another block of corn. There’s another crew from Kansas also in here chopping corn with Claas forage cutters sporting twin engines chopping some of the other dairy operations corn. They chop corn here now until November. | |
