Subject: Government will not shut down the ethanol industry

Starbuck Manitoba Canada
If grain prices continue to rise I could see the blenders credit pulled fairly quick, but I do not think they would pull the plug on the industry itself. There would be to many jobs directly and indirectly effected by such a move
(supposedly 400 thousand jobs). Also the fact that 450 million barrels of ethanol annually would be hard to replace. Considering the refineries are getting old and can not run at the efficiency they use too. Why does the world think that the US has to feed them, I would say energy self sufficiency and security is more important.

Which leads me to another thought maybe North Dakota should put up a refinery near the Bauken(sp.) oil field they could locate it near Devils lake for a source of water.
