Southeast Colorado
I'm going to test pump an irrigation well with a 50 hp submersible. It should just use 40 kw to run but what about starting it? I know they have a pretty large inrush current need to get it spinning. I own a 45 kw generator but I figure it's probably not enough. I can go rent one for a couple of days but the larger I rent the more the $$/day. Does anyone have a good formula for figuring this out? Thanks for any input.
