Subject: Greenstar 2600 - Mapping irrigation and fields - Boundaries

Northeast Nebraska
I did a search and didn't come up with what I wanted.

We acquired a few new farms to plant for the 2011 season. Some have irrigation. How are you guys mapping out pivots? I mostly just want to know where irrigation is for planter population. You dont make it a "boundary" do you?

I am going to setup 2600 display on our ATV, so I should be able to go out and drive the fields. What do I do in fields where we tilled out the outer pivot track?

Do you guys just find the pivot center point and then figure the length in Apex?

In the past years, all our fields that are irrigated have been square, and water hits each end. So its been simple making a prescription for the planter. For 2011, we are planting a farm for a neighbor that is 240 acres, and has 3 pivots on it. So it will be alot harder making a RX map, and we want to get it right.

Should I map exterior boundaries? What about interior boundaries? We have SF2 signal and could use a Starfire 3000 and 2630 display, but would rather use our ITC and 2600 on the ATV.
