Subject: Wheat acreage dropping in the north?

NE SD

I'm beginning to think the spring wheat acres are dropping off. Especially in SD and areas of ND too. We generally consider planting wheat successful if we have it in the ground by April 1 and for sure by the 10th. Many times we're planting into ground that's fit on top but may even have some frost once you get deep. My uncle grows a majority of the wheat on our farm, and I haven't asked him for his intentions, but I have a feeling his and many other farmers' intentions are changing. The weather is not looking real promising to planting within the next 10-15 days with a good frost back in the ground and 5"+ of snow on top of it with a chance for more this weekend. With seed corn being in short supply do you see a shift back towards beans yet this spring?
