Subject: Sikeston Poplar Bluff area question

southern Illinois
We drove to Poplar Bluff yesterday and there were crop dusters flying everywhere. Just wondering what they were spraying/spreading this time of year? Cotton/Rice?
Also the wheat beans were notilled, burned/notilled, burned/worked/planted so the old idea of nothing working in all areas was being put to the test down there. Why do they still burn with new planters that will cut the straw and plant why not save the cover to hold moisture? I guess it dont matter if you are going to water but not everything was irrigated.
Most crops looked real good except for some dryland corn in a couple circles but the beans seem real small for the area this time of year.
