Subject: Impact of heat on corn pollination

Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Joey's comment below has got be thinking of the impact of heat on corn pollination. Of course, my corn is starting to pollinate during one of the hottest Junes ever in Middle TN. Pretty good moisture as of now, but it will be gone quickly with the heat forecasted this week.

Dad always said that heat was the #1 limiting factor in raising corn in our area and I think he may be right. Is there a good study out there that anyone knows of that discusses the impact of heat on corn pollination? What about humidity? I am also curious as to whether the corn will pollinate at night if temperatures get cooler?
