DE | Most of my corn has been strip tilled rr corn. Preplant burndown, no residual herb., and only one post roundup with excellent results. I will be doing tillage this year on some ground due to ruts from fall harvest. From experience, tillage helps germinate weed seed and increases weed pressure early on. Early post and usually a later post has been necessary on my tilled ground. With all the wet weather this year, I'm concerned about things getting too nasty before I may be able to get post roundup applied. Thought it might be good idea to put some pre-emerge residual herb. on to keep weed pressure down. I know corn doesn't tolerate high weed pressure early on.
What would be a simple and relatively inexpensive pre residual to put down. to keep things under control until I can get post roundup on which could be a little on the late side? Low rate bicep, atrazine, princep??? thanks. | |
