Subject: How about some sprayer talk.............

SESD
Maybe not this year, but will be upgrading sprayers in the future. Right now we have a fast 7400 and pull it with a 4455 2wd. For what it's worth, we do like the sprayer and fast's service. We don't like the tractor being on 60" centers. We also run duals most the time to match the sprayer on 120".

OK, would like opinions on different setups. In the SP we would maybe like something in the 4710-4720 range. The thing we don't like about these is the weight and tracks left in a soft feild. We realize other than that this would probably be the best choice. For comparison sake, we would figure running 18.4 tires to match up with the 18" tracks of a track tractor.

Another thought would be to run a track tractor for the flotation. Thinking a Cat 45 or 55 would do the trick. How well are these setups liked? We would like a rear boom with tanks inside the tracks. How does it work with the 2 tank system(filling/mixing, emptying, cleaning)? Poly or stainless? Would you worry about overloading the MFG specs for weight on the tractor? The other plus would be having a good grain cart tractor, back-up planter tractor and other misc. job.

Another idea is another pull-type. One thing we don't like about ours is the weight and tracks left by it. It has 13.6x46 and in soft conditions can leave some good tracks. Are tracks on pull-type sprayers a good idea. Are there better options than others for tracks. The only one I'm aware of with factory tracks is Top Air. Would Land Luvr's or something like it work good on other makes.

Any help, ideas, or comments are much appreciated.
