Subject: Another twin row question

Middle TN
The recent posts on here have gotten me to really thinking about twin row. I'm looking for a planter right now for corn but haven't made any absolute decisions yet. Last year I built a 20" solid row planter for soybeans from 2 cyclo IH's. Got laughed at until all the neighbors saw how well it worked and the job it did. I could build a twin row but I have some questions. 1) How critical is the seed spacing of the adjacent row .i.e. on 38" centers, if the rows are 8 inches apart and you are dropping seeds 10 inches apart, should the row beside it should drop halfway between the other row's seed? 2) If this is a critical factor, has anyone figured out a way to synchronize the planter meters of 2 rows to drop seed accurately. I have some more cyclo planters so I could build some other machine. Also know where to get some JD 7000's with fingers. Or would vacuum be the direction to head?
