Subject: Land prices, how can you justify it

Sumner GA, Located in southwest GA,
Looking through the discussion below about a land sale, I would like to know, how can you afford to pay those kinds of prices? I mean, you could make 200 bu corn here on irrigated ground pretty consistantly, heck you can get 3 crops in two years and not really strain yourself, and yet I cannot see paying $4000 dollars an acre and cashflowing it. Yet it would appear that you midwesterns can make $5300 dollar ground go with a 160 bushel average. I would just like to know how? I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but really, how do you figure land at those prices will ever pay for itself, or do you just figure it wont and live with it? Again, I don't mean to be rude, I really do wish I had the answer, but I dont, at least now here.
