Subject: Tire question for sorta old timers.

SE Nebraska, Near Misery and Cans Ass!
A post below complains about Goodyear tires having to be replaced with 1500 hours and 75% of the tread left. If my memory serves me correctly, in the early/ late 60'S we were thrilled to death to get 1000 hours out of a set of tires on a hundred hp tractor and a pair of tires cost about the same as an engine overhaul. Bout the same cost ratio now just takes more tires and we are sure getting a lot more out of our tires. I certainly remember putting $600 in an overhaul and $600 in a set of tires and Dad calling me the biggest fool ever for putting that much in a tractor repair. That would have been in about 65. What do you recall.
