Subject: 1660 trouble in very dry canola

far sNSW , Australia
On the other side of the world, in SNSW at the moment we are trying to harvest canola at 3% moisture, which we have never had before. Our 1660 is a 1990 with a cummins, a cross flow fan and short sieves, had it for 5 years. Our normal setting is 3/16 bottom sieve, top one pretty tight, rotor 600, concave 5, fan 600. It is completely overloading the sieves and shovelling canola onto the ground. Spent all afternoon trying everything. 1 mph or 3.5mph ground speed, doesn't seem to make any difference on the grain loss. The sieves are overloading all the time. Tried rotor down to 400, didn't help much. Sieves opened up, fan up to 750 to try to get a sample, didn't work. Going to harvest all night tonight as it does toughen up a bit. Been 95 degrees for past 7 days. Any ideas would be really appreciated. I'm sure a 1688 or 2388 with bigger sieves would help.
