central Kansas | My custom harvester cannot go on the ground to cut milo...sinks in and gets stuck...no rear wheel assist.
Guys all around me are cutting, with all colors and ages of machines. He says the 36' JD draper header weighs
about what an 8-row corn head weighs. We had an inch of rain a week ago, and 1-1/2 inches the week before that.
It is soft. Of course, my milo is planted Superthick (thus my handle)--it's in ten-inch rows and 80,000 plant population, so
very little wind or sunshine hits the ground. | |
