Subject: 9400 Deere combine crankshaft

Shelbina, MO
Well, my combine that I have been proud of let me down today. 1990 model with the 359 motor. Crank broke at the end of the harmonic balancer/front of the timing cover. Tryed to find a used crank all afternoon. I'm starting to think there was an issue with these cranks. I can buy a new one from Deere. It looks like the new Deere unit is a heavier, newer design crank. Anyone with experiences, let me know! I've custom cut enough acres to foot this bill, its just a kick in the di#k when your trying to get ahead. I hate to buy a used crank, only to have the same problem done the road. Thanks, Pat.
