Freeburg, IL | Was in some corn fields in the I155/Rte 136 today. I was surprised to see a population of Western Corn Rootworm Beetles. Anyone else seeing any?
I was also surprised at the difference in corn maturity between St. Louis area and that area (about 20-25 minutes south of Peoria/Morton, IL) when comparing similar planting dates. There is probably 2-3 weeks difference in maturity looking at when we dented around STL and corn that is just starting to dent up that way.
