My two grandfathers were just neighbours at the time of this photo in 1910. Each of them and their two brothers got together to purchase their own threshing outfit. An Aultman-Taylor 27-42 threshing machine and an IHC Famous 20 hp portable engine to run it. They had the great misfortune of the whole outfit burning down as a stubble fire passed through when nobody was around to fight it. They managed somehow to get another new one from the IHC dealer. They did their own crops and then whatever custom work was available locally. I have this bill of sale with all their signatures on it.
