Subject: Use of air seeder in the dryer parts of the Great Plains

NE Kansas
On dryland corn, does anyone use a air seeder in Western Kansas or Eastern Colorado (go North or South from the Colorado/Kansas line). I am interested in new or old research or farmers that have actually used air seeders to plant dryland crops in these less than optimum rainfall areas. What are the good points or bad points. My experience West of Dumas, TX that you need a rain to settle the soil over the seed to get good germination. Just wondering. Thanks,

Maybe I should of put this in Machinery Talk. Can't move this. Will put this question over there.
Sorry, I was not thinking.
