Subject: Is anyone doing virtual doc visits?

Northeast Iowa
Long story: For over a decade, I've been having fungal infection flare ups. Scalp hair, facial hair, and various spots on the body from time to time. About 5 years ago is when I found out it was fungal, as antifungal creams and shampoos kept me pretty clean. Last year this time, I got the infection in my eyes and I went to the urgent care doc to ask for an oral antifungal and showed how the flare up was affecting other parts of my body.

They didn't prescribe the drug, and instead gave me an eye paste and said to continue using my anti fungal shampoos and skin creams. I havent had issues in the groin area, but have to buy jock itch cream regardless for my face, neck, ears, chest.

Recently again, having more issues and tried scheduling a docs appointment with my provider. On hold for 30 mins and getting transferred around the clinic. No openings is what they tell me. I'm not in a hurry, doesn't need to be today. They say they are pretty well booked, I should just go to urgent care. I explain they won't prescribe an oral drug like I need without sending me to a lab for a blood draw. (Hopefully done in the same visit with the doc, but not guaranteed) The nurse suggests going to the ER.

I'm about ready hang up the phone and call the animal doctor.

They find an opening next week, which is fine, and I'll head to clinic to be weighed, seen, and they'll push the covid vax or booster, maybe even flu shots, but maybe not this early in the season. If I get my script, I'll wait a few hours for the pharmacist to count out 2 pills and put them in a baggy. Co-pay is only $10, what a deal! But I feel like I've spent $60 of my time.

I checked last night on the web, and the drug is available with an online consult with a doctor. The cost is $60.

The way the Healthcare industry has been so inefficient, I believe this type of medicine will explode. Has anyone had any success or bad experiences with online docs? Viagra really paved the way for this kind of practice, as that seems to be the bulk of online medicine scripts.
