Sidney, Michigan | Not sure why any major breakdown during harvest has to occur on a Friday afternoon? We are stationary with beautiful crops and gorgeous weather and hoping our friendly neighborhood John Deere tech shows up today. Any insights anybody has would be greatly appreciated! There is an old thread about fuse 17 that helped us but we are still down, hoping this is not a computer replacement?
John Deere 9560 STS 1600 separator hours, no previous electrical issues
Serial # HO9560S715378
Friday 2pm
Combine quit while turning on headland without separator running, turned off like a switch was flipped
Fuse 17 blown, replaced fuse, fuse blows on second click of ignition
Saturday
Checked grounds, battery output, and wiring harness for breaks
Found wire to alternator ignition had separated, replaced wire
Combine eventually started, fuse to separator and head activation switches blown
Replaced fuse, ran 4000 bushel
Sunday
Ran 1500 bushel, combine died like it was not getting fuel
Fuse 17 blown, replaced fuse, fuse blows on second click of ignition
Disconnected computer, reconnected, combine ran for 5 minutes, blew fuse 17
