Kingdom of Callaway - Fulton, Mo 65251 | First we lost Jack Buck, and now we are losing Mike Shannon after 50 years of broadcasting Cardinals baseball.
I am 51, and all I've ever know was those guys.
My blushing bride and I went to watch the Cardinals play the Cubs tonight, and beforehand they had a very nice presentation for Mike before he called his last regular season game. They gave him a new golf cart, and his wife drove him one last time around the field.
Then it rained several times, and they called the game in the 6th inning with the Cubs up 3 to 2. Boo! Hiss!
It was fun for just the two of us to get away for a few hours.
