Subject: S series John Deere concaves

I use 2 combines. One used for corn/beans. The other one pretty much only the second bean combine. The bean combine has a lot more hours. I pulled the concaves out of both and the bean machine has considerably more ware and much flatter (higher hour machine).

How important would it be to upgrade the concaves on the bean machine? Do worn out concaves make much of a difference if only harvesting beans? Seems to me XPR or copperhead are all about making the machine better for corn? Maybe I should just put one or two small grain inserts in the bean machine? Or maybe buy some XPRs for the corn/bean machine and move the existing set on that machine to the bean machine (however I’m not excited about the price tag so this isn’t my first choice)?
