ECWI | Have been thinking about an electric bicycle for quite awhile. Finally bought an Aventure Pace 500, large frame, last month. Final decision was when my daughter who loves to bike, got sick and could not ride as far. Bought 1 and loved it so much within a day ordered a second one.
Can be ridden as a normal bicycle with no electric assist, or 1-5 power assist levels. In stead of riding 2-3 miles of the same scenery everyday, can now ride 8-10 miles using the same energy. top speed is 28 miles per hour with assist. Pretty fast for a bicycle. Wife and daughter are 5'7", me and the boys are all 6'2" to 6'6". Large frame works for all of us, just adjust seat height between us as we take turns.
With taxes roughly $1600 each. A one week lead time ordered through a local bike shop. Wish we had purchased sooner.
