Macon, MO | Pictures were taken Saturday morning on the Chariton river in Macon Co. Most of our land is completely covered from the river or just standing water. They had 1.6" at the farm there but just north of us they had 4"-5". The Chartion is suppose to crest tonight but go down slowly over the next 36 hrs. MODOT built a new highway on the north side of the old highway and is backing water up which is causing it to feed under the highway and push into all the fields west of the river,(last pic) and now a individual has rebuilt a levie to the south and add probly 3' to it and holding water from going on south. What a mess, the only good thing is our planter hasn't touched dirt yet and all our seed is still in the bag.
