Northwest Illinois | I have an ‘05 case IH 730c that my disc frame continues to break on. I’ve since beefed it up on top of of tube with 3/4” 10” plate, removed U bolts and bolted discs to added plate. It mostly breaks on the back tube next to the lifting point. It’s 6” x 4” and is only 1/4” thick which is the problem. No, I don’t run too much pressure on the frame. I’m thinking of cutting ends off and cutting holes on front and back in between each blade and plug welding a 1/2” piece of 3” flat on the inside of tube. Have also thought about cutting holes on top and bottom of the tube and welding a 3/4 flat in the middle of the inside of tube. I welded the 3/4” flat on top only to the lift point and have thought about continuing it but the lift points are the only vertical welds on the tubing and is where the breaking is happening. The tube also has the electric seem weld on the top and middle of the tube. I Don’t run many acres thru it but needs to last. First break was in ‘07. | |
