Carthage MO | In two of my fields there is holes insted of corn. every place that a plant should be there is a hole about 1 inch in diameter and 1.5 inches deep. Does anyone know what this could be causing this problem? My thoughts is that it is one of three things, blue heron, turkys, or mice. There is a tree near by that has some blue heron nests (they nest in colonies). This area has not been hunted in years and years so there is a lot of turky. Also this field is no tilled into heavy sod so ther is a lot of cover for field mice, and also i have seen them. Does anyone know how to protect our corn when we go in and replant it? | |
