Subject: RICO

West central missouri
The cattle industry has been the subject of market manipulation for my lifetime, we have come to accept it. Why? If a new processor attempts to change market dynamics, they will be crushed by the big four. The only change will come with the full force and effort of the USDA and DOJ. If there is an effort at change, many of our representatives will oppose it. In the meantime consumers and producers are defrauded of hundreds of millions of dollars every week. We have seen state attorney general's, including our own Eric Schmidt (Missouri), ask for action. I think it is time for those in power to demand a full RICO investigation of our current industry. If there is not a serious effort, our beef industry has no future. It should be easier than prosecuting the Italian mob because of the constant paper trail. It is not hard to see a break in ranks by midlevel executives if faced with prosecution. At that point we should learn the mechanics of the manipulation so it can be stopped and prevented in the future.
