SW Iowa | Does anyone have any experience with refinancing private student loans? My wife has a private student loan, originally through Wells Fargo, now Firstmark Services. We have been slowing whittling it down, but still have quite a ways to go. The interest rate is 6.25% which isn't terrible for a student loan, but we have been doing some research online and it seems like you can refinance for 3 - 3.5% at quite a few different places. We are looking mostly at using Splash Financial, just based on some of the reviews we have found, but we are leery about using it just because it is all online. We have asked our bank about refinancing and our only option with them would be to use the equity in our home which we rather not have to do. Anyway, does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing, or could recommend where to refinance at? Thanks | |
