Subject: Making 2019 profitable

God's Country (N.C. Ia)
Hello all. I joined this site sometime in 2013, and every year since there has been a discussion at some point about what we're all going to do next year to make ends meet. I'm just curious what yall are planning to do to make 2019 profitable? I feel like there's really not many options left to cut the fat out after years of tightening the belt already. Many farmers believe that farming is about averaging out the good years with the bad ones, and I get that, but do we just plant a crop knowing that in all likelihood , it may be a losing money proposition?
I'm not really looking for help with my own operation specifically, just wondering what changes others see making to get the bills paid next year. tia
