I have about 50 acres that i will be making into bedding. I use to hire the neighbors to chop and bale it but i bought my own baler this year. Whats a fair dollar amount to rent a windrowing stalk chopper? It is a fairly new machine. I would use my own tractor, but i guess i could ask them if they wanted to just chop it themselves and i could pay them to chop it using the Iowa rates. I called some dealers around and nobody rents them out. A couple tried selling me a stalk chopper, but holy cow they want a lot of money for those things. Even ones with holes in the hood they want 5k for. Buying new is out of the question for 50 acres unless i were to rent it out or do some custom work with it
