South of Springfield IL | Hunted the first three days of September. Not very many birds. Averaged 10 per hunter Saturday, 7 on Sunday per hunter and 4 today. Saturday and Sunday the doves had corn in their grawl and tonight they had sunflowers, but mostly weed seed. Don’t know if the migration has come and went or are still coming. Anyhow it was not what we are use to opening of the season. No corn has been shelled with in 10 mile of our field. Guess they are out in the standing corn getting there corn. | |
