northwest central Oklahoma | NCBA's Kent Bacus says orders for beef and pork to China are being cancelled in anticipation of tariffs of 25%. And so the demand destruction begins. As a beef producer this is extremely disappointing. We have only been selling them beef for the last year or so after being shut out of that market since mad cow. I also understand China is seeking anyone who can supply them soybeans regardless of quantity. This isn't about who's right or wrong or what is right or wrong. It is about damage that can not be easily undone. China is not the only country seeking others to do business with. I urge everyone to do as I have done and call their senators and congressmen to try to get this resolved before any more damage is done. |
