| A piece of ground I am part owner has a soil and water conservation plan in place to no-till some HEL acreage. It's a long story of some weird inheritance rules- I own it they don't but they get to pick farmer but can't make long term changes to property so for shortness of story, let's call them the "Other Party". The Other Party contracted a farmer to farm it. They did not follow the SCS plan. Now I am needing to come up with a figure as to the value lost from 20 years of no-till when they disced and duall-ed the crap out of it until it is powder. This is HEL land and the washes will be coming once we get rains. Any help in figuring out what it's worth would be greatly appreciated. I have notified the soil and conservation office of the violation and filed a formal complaint but I need to figure out what I have lost. I know the soil improvements and yield gains over that 20 years so I know that No-till was helping and the deep wash outs had stopped and been filled in. | |
