Subject: Chopping the Frame on a Freightliner

Does anyone know what kind of ballpark $$ it would take to shorten the frame on a Freighliner? I have found a cheap 97' Freightliner but it has about a 260+" wheelbase. Way too long for farm work. I was wondering if it would be worth it to put a day cab conversion on it and shorten the frame down to 180-200". I can buy the truck for $7500 is the only reason I am even considering the idea and I know the guy that was running it over the road and he was very particular, health reasons is the only reason he quit running the rig.
It has a recently rebuilt 500 HP N14 redtop engine, 13sp rebuilt tranny, both rear ends have been rebuilt. Rubber is avg at best, brakes and drums are good, new clutch last month, 3.90 rear ends, 24.5 rubber. Fairly nice truck, just too long. Any ideas!!
