Subject: Pulled my first calf

N FLA
Landlord called. Said a neighbor called and was driving by and saw a cow in labor. Drove by later on and she was still down so he called the landlord. I got there 5 minutes later as I was on my way home from work. She was flat on her side. One leg out. Nose out. Tongue hanging out 6", i figured it was all over the way the tongue was hanging out.

Was a home raised heifer. Easy to walk into the pens. Pushed the calf in and one leg was back. Managed to get two feet pointing out and put a single rope on them. My landlord put all his weight into the sling of the ropes and the calf slid out. It was still in good condition.

Big bull calf seemed to have things figured out today. I havr a 3/4 beefmaster 1/4 red Angus bull. I think this is his. He might not be calving ease for the heifers. But I kind of felt like if both legs were pointed out she may have done ok.
