| Anyone notice any calf health issues when using a ration protein based on SBM verse DDG?
Lots of factors and other variables, but last year I fed Sbm from weaning until about 650# then switched to Ddg. This year due to price and convenience I have just feed ddg. Had to treat alot more this year. Maybe just the weather etc. but trying to do better.
Have a load of ddg but thinking about switching back to sbm to try to improve health. Does protein quality between sbm and ddg matter? The ddg came from Denison IA. Ddg we're 135$ and sbm is alittle short of 300$ / ton I believe. The cost per unit of protein could easily be made up if I could treat less cattle. | |
