W Texas | Prayers to all the good folks on the Gulf Coast. It would be paradise on earth if but for the hurricanes. Met many great people down there.
Is it too soon to inquire about the lost production? I'm guessing anything still in field is a total loss. Module and round bale cotton greater than 50% loss. And possibly 100's of 1,000's of bales of warehouse cotton lost.
My back of napkin math makes me wonder about a 10% cut in US production.
Also going to put a premium on quality. And east and west coast cotton going to be easier to get on a ship for a long time. | |
