Subject: Demco Piston Pump Prime

Atlantic, Iowa
So I put some water in my fertilizer tanks on the planter the other day. Bled what air I could before the pump. Dropped the planter in the ground and nothing for quite a while. Probably 10 minutes of driving around. Finally got water to pump out the outlet side of the pump, so I put the plugs in and now I am just barely getting the redballs to move. I spent probably another 15 minutes driving, but was running out of light. What am I doing wrong? Last year was the first year on the pump and it started and ran all year with no problems at all. Should note that the pump is mounted with discharge on the top so that I could make the pump drive off the transmission on the left side of the planter. Pump had rv antifreeze in it all winter. Any and all help would be appreciated.
