SW Indiana | I have 45 acres of 2 year Alfalfa that the neighbor that was renting it gave back to me for this year. Pretty decent looking stuff. I'm trying to decide wheather to burn it down and plant corn into it.... or bale it and then plant. I have a few cows and could use some hay..... but is it worth more to leave it for OM?
It's about 16" tall at the moment and I'm not too afraid to just plant into it if need be. Just trying to figure the right way to go financially.
I'll try to load a couple of pics of it.
P.S. I should have mentioned this is a sandy field with an OM of only 1.3..
