Subject: Corn silage equivalent: DDG VS. Whole Soybeans??

SW MO
In my quest in finding a feed that is somewhat equivalent to corn silage, I have decided to use rye silage as my base. The only thing that the rye lacks that the corn has is energy. I have found two feeds to mix with the rye that could get me fairly close to being equivalent, those being whole soybeans and dried distillers grains. The ddgs have 95% TDN while the whole soybeans have 92% TDN. The soybeans are obviously much higher in protein, but they are much easier to get as we raise soybeans. What is the thing to use? Will too much protein hurt me much? The rye silage is already higher in protein than corn silage. Another option would be to use cotton seed. Thank you for all the help and God bless.
