I've been watching shows such as Laramie and the Rifleman when I get a chance.  Really like Laramie as the show was shot in Wyoming and the guys seem like they actually know how to ride horse or swing an axe.  They also reload their revolvers in shootouts.

But what I like best is the shows have pretty straight plots of theft or attempts to gain power.  While shows such as Criminal Minds or Law & Order Special Victims are filled with a level of perversion that makes me wonder what kind of people write these stories.

I don't need to see a body on the autopsy table all cut up and body parts in pans to know the guy was murdered.  The older shows had people killed but they didn't dwell on the wounds or have blood  all over.
